Raw materials from Bayer help coatings protect and enrich architectural surfaces

Cincinnati, May 20, 2014 — Architectural coatings for commercial and institutional applications have their own unique requirements for durability, design and meeting regulations. Coatings play an important role in not only preserving surfaces but also making them functional, beautiful and more sustainable.

Bayer MaterialScience LLC has developed a diverse portfolio of raw materials for coatings that provide a solution for many architectural, building and construction applications. This broad portfolio will be showcased at the company’s booth #12&13 during the Durability + Design 2014 conference and exhibition, May 20-22 in Cincinnati.

Bayer’s raw materials and technologies include waterborne, polyaspartics and waterborne ultraviolet- (UV) cured coatings, which can be applied to a variety of surfaces such as concrete and vinyl floors, walls and decks. In addition to uses in healthcare, hospitality, higher education, and governmental buildings, the technologies can also be used for waterproofing and roofing applications.

Also during the conference, Steven Reinstadtler, coatings marketing manager – Construction Group and Sustainability, Coatings, Adhesives & Specialties (CAS), Bayer MaterialScience LLC, will moderate a panel discussion “Good Practice in Specifying Coatings and Other Finishes” at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 22.
