Pittsburgh, January 12, 2016 — Covestro LLC announces that Paul Platte has been named senior marketing manager, Automotive and Transportation, North America in Polycarbonates Industrial Marketing. In his new role, Platte will lead and coordinate strategy and marketing activities for polycarbonate-based material applications for the automotive and transportation industry in the region. He will also be responsible for identifying and developing new market opportunities.
Platte has been with Covestro for nearly 27 years and has held several managerial positions including director of the EcoCommercial Building Program; director of new business for industry innovation, automotive; manager advanced marketing, automotive polycarbonates; key account manager, Ford Europe; and most recently as market manager, specialty RIM and composites for its polyurethanes business unit.
Prior to joining Covestro, Platte held positions at ITT Automotive and General Motors. Platte holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from GMI Engineering & Management Institute (now Kettering University).
